WikiUpdating this wiki is pretty easy. Click 'Edit' at the head or foot of the page and supply the password. You can then edit the text fairly freely. You will see some markup buttons at the top of the page and, as an alternative, instructions on adding markup to your text at the bottom. For instance, you can prefix a line with a * to make it a bullet point, or surround words with pairs of apostrophes ''thus'' to italicise them. All the further information you could want is here. A key difference between wikis and other content management systems (like WordPress) lies in how new pages are created. In WordPress, you'd make a new page, then link to it. In PmWiki, you start by making a link to the as-yet-nonexistent page from an existing page. This is as simple as thinking up a name for the new page, and typing it [[surrounded by double square brackets]]. After saving the change, you can leave the link hanging for someone else (or future you) to fill in, or click on the new link to create and edit the new page. |
